Flying Vueling With Your Dog: 10 kg in the Cabin, Fees and How to Book

Vueling is one of the few airlines in Europe that lets a dog of up to 10 kg fly in the cabin, 2 kg more than most. The catch: there is no hold option at all, so a bigger dog can't fly Vueling. Here's the short version, checked September 2026. Rules change, so confirm on Vueling's pet page before you fly.

In the cabin: up to 10 kg, dog and bag together

  • Weight: max 10 kg for dog + bag together.
  • Bag: a soft carrier of max 45 × 39 × 21 cm. Hard carriers are not allowed. It goes under the seat in front of you and stays closed during the flight.
  • How many: 1 pet per passenger, and max 5 pets per flight (2 on flights operated by Iberia). Two dogs from the same litter may share one carrier, within the 10 kg.
  • Where you sit: not in the first row or at an emergency exit.

No hold: bigger dogs can't fly Vueling

Where Vueling won't take your dog

What it costs

From €60 on international flights, and from €50 within Spain. The pet is added to every flight in your booking, and Vueling shows the exact price when you add it.

How to book your dog's spot

  1. Book your own ticket first, and add your dog in the same booking if you can. With only 5 pet spots per flight, don't wait.
  2. Already booked? Adding a pet to an existing booking goes through Vueling's customer service.
  3. At the airport: you can't check in online with a pet. Go to the check-in desk with your dog in its carrier.
  4. Bring the EU pet passport, a microchip and a rabies shot at least 21 days old.
