Flying Brussels Airlines With Your Dog: Cabin, Hold, Fees and How to Book
Brussels Airlines takes small dogs in the cabin and bigger dogs in the hold, within Europe and on its flights to Africa and North America. Here's the short version, checked September 2026. Rules change, so confirm on Brussels Airlines' pet page before you fly.
In the cabin: up to 8 kg, dog and bag together
- Weight: max 8 kg for dog + bag together.
- Bag: max 55 × 40 × 23 cm. It goes under the seat in front of you.
- Where you sit: a window seat, not in an exit row or at the bulkhead.
- How many: max 4 pet bags in the cabin per plane. Minimum age 15 weeks.
In the hold: kennels up to 125 × 75 × 85 cm
Too big for the cabin? Your dog flies in the hold, the heated luggage space under the floor of your own plane, in a hard IATA kennel. See what a hold kennel must have.
- Kennel: max 125 × 75 × 85 cm. The price depends on the size: medium up to 60 × 45 × 40 cm, or large.
- Transfers: changing planes in Brussels, Frankfurt, Zurich, Vienna or Geneva costs an extra €150 per direction.
- Booking: a dog in the hold can only be booked through the Brussels Airlines Service Centre.
Where Brussels Airlines won't take your dog
- The United Kingdom: no pets on UK flights, cargo only. Going to England? Read how to take your dog to the UK by ferry or train.
- Brussels–Yerevan: no dogs in the hold from 15 June to 15 September 2026.
What it costs
- Cabin: €80 within Europe, €65–115 to Africa, €115 to the US and Canada east coast.
